Alejandro González Iñárritu will be honored by the Cinema Audio Society as Filmmaker of the Year at the 59th CAS Awards on March 4 in Los Angeles.
The Mexican will thus share honors with colleagues such as Steven Spielberg, Quentin Tarantino, jonathan demme, Jon Favreau, George Clooney, Richard Linklater Y Ridley Scott.
“It is an honor to designate director Alejandro González Iñárritu as the winner of the prestigious CAS Filmmaker Award 2023“said the president of the society, Karol Urban.
“Her sobering depictions of the human experience bring empathy and awareness to perspectives that often go unreported and unconsidered. Undoubtedly drawing from his history in music, his films experiment with and use sound, uniquely embracing its ability to emotionally engage the viewer.
“Being recognized as a filmmaker by my peers at the Cinema Audio Society is a great honor.“, thanked the director of ‘Bardo’, in a statement.
