Antonio Banderas wants Tom Holland to be the new Zorro

Antonio Banderas is very clear about who he wants to see as El Zorro in a tentative new sequel to his film series, Deadline noted. In a recent interview, the Spanish actor pointed out that he is open to a third sequel to the character, since he is clear about who he would like to hand over the baton to as the famous hero.

“Yes, I would consider that possibility,” he told ComicBook about the hypothetical third installment, Deadline review. And he added: “If they called me to play Zorro again I would do what Anthony Hopkins did for me, which is pass the baton.”

It has “sparkle”

The native of Malaga also indicated that he would like to see the British Tom Holland behind the mask. “I did ‘Uncharted’ with him and he’s so energetic and fun, and he also has that spark. So why not?” said Antonio Banderas.

It is worth remembering that Tom Holland is currently part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, where he gives life to one of the most popular superheroes of all time: Spider-Man, of which he has already completed a trilogy and several appearances in other films.

Likewise, it should be noted that there are currently no concrete plans for a sequel with the incarnation of Zorro de Banderas, although the character stars in several television projects.

As Deadline points out, at the beginning of the year it was announced that The CW had ordered six episodes of a reimagining of the story, with a woman in the leading role.

Likewise, Wilmer Valderrama revealed that he is working on a series about the character for Disney +. “He will be a Fox for this generation. He will be incredibly thoughtful with his origin story and grounded in authenticity,” the actor of Colombian-Venezuelan descent said in May on “The Drew Barrymore Show.”
