At least six injured in a shooting inside a Washington, DC nightclub – La Opinion

Authorities reported that at least Six people were injured after a shooting inside a nightclub located in the Dupont Circle neighborhood of Washington, DC.

The Metropolitan Police Department said officers responded to a shooting in the 1200 block of Connecticut Ave Northwest and 18th Street Northwest around 11:30 p.m. on Friday, April 26.

Six adult victims were found with gunshot wounds at the scene. Three men and two women were transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, MPD Deputy Chief Ramey Kyle said in a message. video published in X.

A fourth man was treated at the scene for a minor injury and refused to be taken to a hospital, according to authorities.

Kyle said that A suspect, identified as Rennwel Mantock, 29, of Hyattsville, MD, was taken into custody. and a gun was recovered from the scene.

The detectives’ investigation determined that Mantock opened fire after employees removed him from a nightclub following a dispute.

Mantock was arrested and charged with assault with intent to kill, possession of unregistered ammunition and possession of an unregistered firearm, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.

Police assured that the scene is safe and there are no further threats to the community.

The Metropolitan Police Department thanked the Uniformed Division of the United States Secret Service for their assistance at the scene of this incident.
