Christian Mbilli’s coach affirms that they are not going to wait for Canelo Álvarez or anyone – La Opinion

Marc Ramsey, coach of Christian Mbilli, stated that they are not going to wait for Saúl ‘Canelo’ Álvarez or any of the champions of the super middleweight division because when the time comes they will have no choice but to face it.

In an interview with Boxing Scene, Ramsey expressed that like Mbilli He is having good performances, no one wants to fight with him.l, but assured that they will continue doing their job until they necessarily have to get into the ring with the Frenchman.

We are not going to be waiting for Canelo. We are not going to wait for (David) Benavídez or (David) Morrell nor to anyone. We’re just doing our things. We have a great promoter in Camille Estephan, she has given us all the tools to move up the rankings. At a certain point, no one in the division will have no choice but to face him,” she said.

“He is in the same situation as Artur before winning the title. He is having good performances, but not many in his division want to fight him because he is an inside fighter and a pressure fighter. It’s not a fun fight to do. The division is a bit stagnant at the moment with Canelo holding all the belts. But, like I said, we are not going to wait and we will force people to confront us,” he added.

Following his victory over Rohan Murdock last January, Christian Mbilli became one of Canelo Álvarez’s potential opponents. The Frenchman promised that will do everything possible to get a chance and prove that he is the best in the 168-pound division.

“I am THE fighter of the division, I am the future of the division, that was today’s message. Canelo is the best, everyone knows that Canelo is the best, now I want to show that I am the best in the division. That’s why my goal is to fight Canelo. I will do everything I can to fight Canelo. Let’s go,” he declared in the interview in the ring after his victory.

Despite Mbilli’s wish, Canelo Álvarez He has other plans and that is why his coach does not want to get involved in a long wait for an opportunity. Apparently, the man from Guadalajara will face Jaime Munguía on May 4 and in September against Jermall Charlo or David Benavídez, official challenger, so a fight with the Frenchman is far from happening.
