Stellantis this recalling 270,904 SUV’s from the market due to a malfunction of the anti-lock brakes, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration announced this week.
What vehicles are being recalled and on what models?
SUV models dodge durango Y Jeep Grand Cherokee are affected, all of whom are from the years 2018 and 2019 model.

What is the reason for the recall?
The specific problem with these vehicles is that “a malfunction in the anti-lock brake system (ABS) module can illuminate the brake lights and allow the vehicle to start and shift out of Park without the brake pedal being applied“, the NHTSA said in its recall bulletin (PDF).
So far there have been no known accidents due to this fault.
If one of these SUVs starts out of Park, it could roll unexpectedly, possibly leading to a crash or a host of other problems. Stellantis said that it is not aware of any accidents or injuries related to this problem.

Stellantis intends to solve this problem in July
As for a solution, the NHTSA said that “the solution is under development” and owners are expected to be notified by mail in late July. To verify if your vehicle is affected by this or any other recall, go to the NHTSA page to address and resolve your doubts.
