Dua Lipa wants women to explore their sexual and feminine side – Chévere

Dua Lipa is in one of the most important moments in his career. In fact, she is about to release her third album, which will be released in the first quarter of next year. Despite all her success, the singer still believes that women still have many limitations.

The artist explained that over time women have been prevented from exploring their sexual and feminine side, as she said this Sunday in an interview with The Sun newspaper, where she also stated that she would like women to “have the confidence to be themselves”.

“As women, we’ve been oppressed about how you’re supposed to look or be. We have been pushed down for too long to really feel who we are and explore the sexual and feminine side of ourselves,” she highlighted.

Dua Lipa added about the place of women in the music business, where she stated that perhaps they have been underestimated. “We are building our own castles, but not necessarily getting the recognition we deserve,” she said.

The singer was inspired by seeing her brother Gjin, 16, and her sister Rita, 21, act differently. ”The younger generations have a really interesting outlook on life. His way of thinking is much more evolved. My brother is 16 years old. He is much more interested in how things work in the world. Same with my sister,” she commented.

“Maybe it’s the internet or the way we’ve evolved as people, it’s really interesting and refreshing and inspiring too,” the singer said.

Dua Lipa also told The Sun that she was rejected by a drama school in London more than once. “I enrolled in a singing and drama school in London. They rejected me, I appealed and they rejected me again. I was like. ‘oh my gosh, why is this happening to me?’ I just wanted to sing. I was like, ‘I can play the cello, I can do this. They still didn’t want me. I was like, ‘F***, maybe this isn’t for me,'” the singer came to think.
