The Mexican Edson Álvarez was in charge of scoring Ajax’s first goal against Scottish Rangers in what was the partial victory of the Netherlands team 4-0 in their debut in the UEFA Champions League.

The goal of the Mexican midfielder came at minute 17 of the engagement after Steven Berghuis executed a perfect corner kick to the heart of the area that was forcefully finished off by Álavrez leaving Rangers goalkeeper Jon McLaughlin without any choice.
