The 71st edition of the Miss Universe had two candidates in the top two who are designers by profession trending: R’Bonney Gabriel, Miss USA Y Amanda Dudamel, Miss Venezuela.

The Venezuelan representative, who according to many should have been the winner, He has a brand in his country called Made in Petare with which he empowers mothers in popular areas and creates products that generate a sustainable social impact.

Dudamel is listed as the creative director of the project that works mainly in the Petare neighborhood of Caracas, Venezuela, considered one of the largest, poorest and most insecure of Latinamerica.

The brand, Made in Petare, refers to the fact that 9 out of 10 of its inhabitants affirm that they do not have money to buy the necessary basic food and supplements.

“We are a model of transformation based on work and the integral well-being of the communities. We are creators of products that generate a sustainable social impact. We are a platform of ideas and paths that contribute to the transformation of Petare ”, he says on his website.

The main objective of Made in Petare is “Activate a real transformation chain in vulnerable communities and contribute to the development of its people.” They produce products from the area and with workers from there, in turn, what they receive from their sale is invested in improving various aspects of the lives of the locals.

The money received is allocated to: 10 soup kitchens that receive more than 1,300 children on a daily basis, carry out educational sessions and offer monthly medical sessions.
