In the return of his podcast, ‘Triiisecta’ that he has with his teammate Kevin Álvarez and the former Águilas player, Miguel Layún, the South American player was clear when explaining that being able to attend social events allows him to take stock with their responsibilities on the playing field.

“I like it, it’s important to say. It recharges me. It is therapy for me to go to these types of events”said Igor Lichnovsky who has been questioned by the fans of the current Mexican soccer champion for what they consider to be a lack of concentration at a crucial stage for his club.

In recent weeks, while the Águilas del América were preparing for the Liguilla, he was seen at the Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix where he shared with the Mexican Sergio “Checo” Pérez and more recently he participated in a golf event with the boxing champion, Saúl “Canelo” Álvarez.

“In the morning I went to therapy; I know my physique and I know what my limits are. And that (attending a Canelo Álvarez event) for me was a ‘thank you’ for playing well on Saturday.”added the Chilean who starred in a moment of tension that could have sentenced América in the Liguilla.

It was during the second leg of the quarterfinals against Pachuca when the South American defender made a mistake at the start that ended in the Tuzos’ goal. However, in the 90th minute Julián Quiñones appeared to seal the 1-1 draw that sealed the Azulcremas’ qualification.

“Days off are days off, to enjoy, to rest, to go somewhere else. “Igor has been an important player for me, always showing commitment”commented the strategist in relation to the Chilean who sounds like one of the possible players who would leave the team for next season.

Despite the criticism and his appearances at social events, Igor Lichnovsky continues to be a fundamental piece in the defense of the Águilas del América, which starting this Thursday will be defining the champion of the Clausura 2024 tournament against Cruz Azul.
