Thirteen years after the original “Avatar”, James Cameron will finally introduce audiences to the long-awaited sequel to the highest-grossing film of all time when it hits theaters next Friday.

Nevertheless, Cameron was forced to miss the Hollywood premierein Los Angeles, this Monday night because tested positive for Covid-19.

According to a Variety report, The director of “Titanic” feels fine and is asymptomaticbut due to protocol, any impending promotion for what will be one of the biggest movies of the year will be done virtually.

In a Zoom presentation, Cameron said that he wanted to “say an apology to everyone who gathered there tonight. I can’t be at my own party.” And he went on to say that “it started to feel a bit heavy” while traveling back from Tokyo.

“I got tested and sure enough, I have COVID, so obviously I can’t be there, putting other people in danger”

A week ago, the Canadian director had the opportunity to present his film in London and now cinemas around the world await the world premiere of the second part of the story on December 16.

The second part of the saga takes place a decade after the events portrayed in the first film and tells the story of the Sully family, who will have to do everything possible to stay together after an ancient threat reappears.

“Avatar: The Way of Water” stars Zoe SaldanaSam Worthington, Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang, Cliff Curtis, Joel David Moore, CCH Pounder, Edie Falco, Jemaine Clement and Kate Winslet, who were present at the event that took place at the Hollywood and Highland shopping center.

It is worth mentioning that, days after its premiere, The film already has two Golden Globe nominations.one for Cameron for Best Direction and another for Best Motion Picture Drama.
