Comedian Jay Leno returned to the stage at the Comedy Magic Club in Hermosa Beach, California, this Sunday after spending ten days in the hospital where he received treatment for burns.

The former Tonight Show host was received at the club, where he has been performing since 1992, with welcome signs from the owners and workers of the place where it was a full house.

Leno did a stand-up act where he began by reading new jokes about his incident before continuing with his usual lines, according to Entertainment Tonight.

A source told the same outlet that the presenter was in a good mood accompanied by his wife Mavis and that his burns were not as visible..

On November 12, 72-year-old Leno had an accident while working on one of his cars when the fuel line burst and caused him second- and third-degree burns to about 7 percent of his upper body.

After the accident, Jay Leno was treated at the Grossman Burn Center in Los Angeles where he received skin grafts and underwent treatments in a hyperbaric chamber.

On November 21, the hospital issued a press release on the comedian’s condition.

“Jay is optimistic that he will make a full recovery. He would like everyone to know how grateful he is for the care he received, and he is very grateful for all the well wishes,” the hospital reported.
