The foreign minister of Mexico, Marcelo Ebrard, spoke from Qatar about the recent controversy after a video that went viral and shows how an Aztec fan brought alcohol after landing in Doha despite the bans on consumption and carrying of the Asian nation.
The controversy reached politics and the official regretted what happened, considering that this image does not represent the true behavior of Mexican citizens.
“That does not qualify us, but we must respect the legal norms. The politician was present at the inauguration of the Mexico-Qatar 2022 Center in Doha, together with the president of the Mexican Football Federation, Yon de Luisa and the head of diplomacy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Alfonso Zegbe.

Several videos of Aztec fans supporting the streets of Doha in a very creative way have gone viral on social networks, but some clips of fans causing “disaster” have also emerged.
The episode to which the foreign minister referred is an audiovisual material that was uploaded to the TikTok social network and shows the way in which a small group of fans was able to enter a bottle in a simple way and without the authorities noticing. They will notice, because a jacket from the Mexican team was used to cover it.
