The Moroccan team gave a surprise this Sunday with the 1-0 victory over Belgium that puts them first in Group E of Qatar 2022 with 4 units and with a high chance of qualifying in the last day.
Belgium still lacks striker Romelu Lukaku in the starting line-up and although they have Kevin de Bruyne and Eden Hazard in midfield, Morocco were much better during the 90 minutes.
In the first half, the Belgians were only superior during the first 15 minutes, then the Moroccans began to reach the area of the Belgians who never knew how to turn the game around.
Late in the first half, Hakim Ziyech scored a goal from a free kick that was disallowed despite a poor start from Thibaut Courtois. For the second part, Morocco took the protagonist of the match.
Abdelhamid put the Moroccan team ahead with a free kick that Courtois could not stop and gave Morocco hope of dreaming of the round of 16. Belgium kept trying, but in a counterattack, Aboukhlal made it 2-0 with a great pass from Ziyech and thus gave a new surprise in Qatar 2022.
Morocco will face Canada in their last match, while the Belgians will have to seek their qualification against Croatia in one of the closest matches in this group
