In the midst of the sadness and unease for the elimination of Mexico in the World Cup in Qatar 2022another unfortunate news is added to further lower the spirits of Mexican soccer. Former soccer player Omar Trujillo died Thursday, December 1, in his native Morelia from an alleged heart attack.
The news was widely disseminated on social networks, after Moses Munoz, Trujillo’s former partner in Monarcas Morelia, shared the sad news of the death of the popular “Teco”.
The information indicates that the former captain of Monarcas Morelia was playing a soccer match with his friends in the city. But Trujillo would have suffered a cardiac arrest that would have taken his life.
A legend of Liga MX
Omar Trujillo played in clubs like the Morelia, Atlas, UANL Tigers and Celaya before retiring in the Morelia of his loves in 2012. “Teco” played more than 350 games in Liga MX and had the opportunity to debut in the Mexican National Team in a friendly match on April 28, 2005. In that duel Trujillo played 45 minutes in Mexico’s 1-1 draw with Poland.
