New Classic in the US: Real Madrid and FC Barcelona will collide in August at the MetLife Stadium – La Opinion

The United States will witness a new edition of the Spanish Classicwhen next August 3 they face the real Madrid and the FC Barcelona at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, a venue with capacity for 82,500 spectators that will also host the Copa América and will host the final of the 2026 World Cup.

The information was confirmed this Tuesday, the day it was also revealed andhe Soccer Champions Tour calendar, a preseason competition that will feature five of the best clubs in the world and that will be held in different cities in the country.

The Classic was already played last summer on American soil, at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington (Texas), that ended with a forceful 0-3 in favor of Barcelona with goals from Dembelé, Fermín and Ferran Torres. In 2022, the Blaugranas also won by beating Real Madrid 0-1 at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas thanks to a goal from Raphinha.

The tournament, in which Milan, Manchester City, Chelsea, Barcelona and Real Madrid will participate, will have six games in six different stadiums in the United States.

The Barça team will debut on July 30 against Manchester City at the Camping World Stadium in Orlando (Florida), and a day later, Madrid will face Milan at the Soldier Field Stadium (Chicago).

After the Classic, on August 6, the ‘culés’ will meet Milan at the M&T Stadium in Baltimore (Maryland) and the meringues will face Chelsea at the Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte (North Carolina).

The competition begins with Manchester City vs. Milan on July 27 at Yankee Stadium from New York, the only match without Spanish teams and tickets will go on sale starting March 27.
