Just over a month after the launch of NIKKE: GODDESS OF VICTORY, the mobile game has raised more than 100 million dollars. The data from AppMagic show that the game is very popular in Japan, with 53% of the total revenue. It is followed by South Korea, with 26%, and the United States, with 14%.

If you compare the first month revenue of other popular titles, the mobile version of Genshin Impact made over $14 million in its first month. For its part, Tower of Fantasy earned more than 39 million dollars during the first month of its worldwide release.
One of the factors in making NIKKE such a success is the unique game genre that is a breath of fresh air in the sea of open world that gacha games tend to go for today. Another reason why the game wins so much is how quickly the banners rotate relative to each other.
NIKKE banners typically last for two weeks, with some faster exceptions, like the Helm banner, which only lasted 10 days. Which means there are always banners to pull for at any time.
Another reason could be the game’s unforgiving mercy system, where you can get a guaranteed SSR unit after 200 rolls, while having no soft mercy. For comparison, Genshin Impact gives players soft mercy at 76 rolls and hard mercy at 90 rolls.
Also, the distribution between SR and SSR units is not ideal (there are only 8 SR units and 47 SSR units), which makes the experience difficult for completionist players and those looking for a specific unit.
