Nod to Real Madrid? Santiago Giménez shows his preference for playing in LaLiga-La Opinion

In recent months the name of Santiago Giménez has been linked to various rumors about the interest of several European teams to acquire his services, but this Friday the Mexican forward made it clear which championship he would like to play in at some point in his career.

It is nothing more and nothing less than LaLiga and in an interview with TUDN the star attacker of Feyenoord of the Eredivisie explained why he has the desire to join the Spanish championship and gave the reasons why he considers that the Spanish tournament would be the best option for him.

“I think that because I am Latin, because I am Mexican, I would like LaLiga in Spain and it is the one that would suit me best, I tell you on a personal level. It could be Germany or England, I don’t know, one of those. Afterwards I don’t know, I have no idea, but that’s what I believe.”launched Feyenoord’s top scorer this season.

At some point it was said that both in the real Madrid As at Atlético de Madrid there was talk of the possibility of evaluating the signing of Santiago Giménez, so the choice of LaLiga could be a wink from the Mexican attacker for either of the two teams in the Spanish capital.

“In terms of taste, I would like Spain because I feel that it is the most similar to Latin America. My father tries to be measured with the process, to take me in the best way and I understand that perfectly. In the end I don’t have the answer as to which league I will do better in and which I won’t. I can’t know that.”said the 22-year-old.

Santiago Giménez is Feyenoord’s top scorer this season in the Netherlands tournament with his 20 goals, however, he has been the target of criticism for his performance so far in 2024 in which he has been emerging from an offensive drought. Despite that, he seems happy in the team.

“They always ask me what the next step is, wait I’m here (Feyenoord) just starting my career. “I have always had that mentality that God’s timing is perfect, that you have to be patient and enjoy the moment because I am really enjoying Rotterdam.”he pointed out.

The Mexican considers that there is a lot of expectation to know about his near future despite the fact that the player has a current contract with Feyenoord until 2027 and rumors about his possible departure from the team for next season do not stop.

“It seems to me that yes, people are in a greater hurry than me, because I am patient that it is going to arrive, I feel calm”said the attacker who is preparing to play this Sunday with Feyenoord in their match on matchday 25 of the Eredivisie against Heracles.

Santiago Giménez’s team is in second place in the standings behind PSV Eindhoven of also Mexican Hirving Lozano with a difference of 10 points with 10 dates remaining until the end of the championship.
