Peaky Blinders fans are happy after they will be able to see Peaky Blinders again Cillian Murphy as the famous gangster Tommy Shelby, after the creator of the series, Steven Knightwill confirm that the Oscar winner will be part of the film based on the successful Netflix series.

During the premiere of his new project, the drama “The Town,” Knight spoke to the press and revealed that Murphy “Definitely going back”. Furthermore, he confirmed that filming will begin in September. “Without a doubt he will return. We will shoot the film in September, in Digbeth,” he confirmed to the media present.

The return of the actor for the film version of Peaky Blinders is not very surprising, since the protagonist of “Oppenheimer” has said on many occasions that he was very interested in bringing the popular series to the big screen. His only requirement was always that the script be good enough.

“If there’s more story, I’d love to do it,” Murphy told England’s Rolling Stone last year of a possible Peaky Blinders movie. “But it has to be told well. Steve Knight wrote 36 hours of television and we left very happy. “I am very proud of that last season, so I should feel that I am doing something legitimate and justified,” he added at the time.

“I’ve always said that if Knight delivers a good script, something I know he can deliver because he’s a phenomenal writer. If we want to see Tommy Shelby at 50 years old, I will be there. let’s do it” the star told the Irish Star last month.

During a conversation for Variety’s Actors on Actors between Murphy and Margot Robbie last year, she mentioned the series: “Can we please talk about Tommy Shelby for just a minute?!” She then asked him about a possible movie derived from the story, begging him to do it, to which Murphy responded: “I’m open to the idea. I have always thought that if there is more story to tell, I will be there.”
