Tampa Police issued an arrest warrant Thursday for assault in a domestic incident against Antonio Brown, former Tampa Bay Buccaneers player, and waits outside his residence to arrest him.
“We’re not going anywhere,” police warned with a megaphone to urge Brown to turn himself in. Authorities said they have knocked on the door of the player’s home with no response.
The journalist Dov Kleiman reported that there is information that Brown has weapons in his house so that the police authorities cannot break in without an order. In addition, the police also stressed that Antonio Brown is wanted by the Tampa Police and that because it is an open investigation they will not offer more information until there is some progress.
The misdemeanor assault warrant issued early Thursday stems from an incident between Antonio Brown and a woman believed to be the mother of the former Bucs’ children.
The 34-year-old catcher, who is a free agent, threw a shoe at the woman’s head, which caught her. on the back of her head and then left her outside the South Tampa residence.
Police explained that after the incident Brown posted an informal eviction notice on the door directed toward the woman. who was in the garden together with the little ones. Brown has refused to leave the residence, police added.
Police in Tampa, Florida have issued an arrest warrant for Antonio Brown on one count of assault that occurred on November 28, ESPN reported. On November 29, a judge denied a petition for protection against risks that prevents Brown from possessing firearms or ammunition if he is considered a danger to society or to himself.
This is not the first time the former NFL player has run into trouble with the authorities. In 2020, Brown had to pay $1.2 million dollars a moving truck driver in Broward County after being arrested for assaulting the driver.
