The Los Angeles Galaxy rose from 0-2 and tied 2-2 against St. Louis with a goal from Riqui Puig, who scored a penalty goal to fuel the Los Angeles team’s comeback.
The Spanish midfielder has three goals in the last four games and has six goals with seven assists in the 2023 Major League Soccer season.
Billy Sharp was the one who achieved the comeback with a tie in the 82nd minute and thus maintain the LA Galaxy’s hopes of reaching the playoffs in this difficult year.
Samuel Adeniran and German Joao Klauss put Saint Louis ahead 2-0 in just 28 minutes.
Puig equalized from the penalty spot with a powerful cross shot in the 52nd minute. and, just six minutes later, he was brought down in midfield by a harsh and naive foul by Adeniran, who was sent off.
Sharp rescued a point for the Galaxy, who after a terrible start to the year and after losing Mexican forward Javier ‘Chicharito’ Hernández due to a cruciate injury, they are recovering sensations.
They have 30 points and are four points behind Dallas, ninth, which occupies the last place that gives access to the ‘playoffs’. Saint Louis is the leader with 48 points, seven more than the Seattle Sounders.
LA Galaxy Upcoming Matches
There are eight days of the regular season left to play, so the team must add units if it dreams of reaching the next phase. The next match will be El Clásico del Tráfico against LAFC who has a negative streak of three consecutive losses.

The Portland team has had a very difficult season and is in the last places in the West in the MLS, but in their last three games they have scored seven points.
After LAFC, the Galaxy will face Austin FC and the Portland Timbers, two teams that are out of the playoff spots and that they are direct rivals to aspire to classification.
