Eto’o sent a message on social networks after the events of this Monday:
“On December 5, at the end of the Brazil-South Korea match, a violent altercation pitted me against a person who apparently supported Algeria. I am deeply sorry that I lost my temper and reacted in a way that did not fit my personality. I apologize to the public for this unfortunate incident.
The youtuber He calls himself ‘Sadouni SM’ on social networks and is described as a ‘youtuber’ for the videos he uploads to that popular platform. This Algerian citizen was the victim of an attack by former Cameroonian soccer player Samuel Eto’o and has now filed a complaint against him.
Eto’o delivered a vicious kick that connected with the individual in the upper part of the body or perhaps in the head, sending him to the ground. Through his YT channel, the Algerian assured that he asked the soccer legend about Bakary Gassama, a referee who, in addition to being present at Qatar 2022, whistled the controversial World Cup qualifying playoff match between Algeria and Cameroon.
“During this World Cup, the Cameroonian fans were harassed and annoyed by the Algerians for the same issue. All appeals filed by the Algerian Football Federation before the competent courts have been dismissed. Therefore, I ask the Algerian authorities and the Algerian sister federation to assume their responsibilities to put an end to this deleterious climate before a more serious tragedy occurs”, concluded the former footballer.
