In the midst of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar and after the one-goal draw this Sunday between Spain and Germany, the future of the Catalan midfielder Sergio Busquets has been in the news for an alleged interest from Inter Miami of Major League Soccer (MLS).

According to information from the Iberian program ‘El Partidazo de COPE’, the veteran soccer player would be being tempted by the team owned by David Beckham in the United States to join their ranks in 2023.

The news was revealed by the renowned journalist Juanma Castaño. Apparently, the 34-year-old player would have decided to abandon the discipline of FC Barcelona. His departure would take place months after that of another veteran like Gerard Piqué and would benefit the club’s coffers by releasing one of the highest chips in terms of salary.

Busquets ends his contract with the Blaugrana institution next June and in case of negotiating an extension of the link, he would have to do it downwards.

Currently the midfielder is playing the World Cup in Qatar with Spain being one of the key players in the midfield along with Pedri and Gavi.

It should be remembered that during last season and part of this, Busquets was one of the most criticized Barca footballers along with Piqué for his performance in some specific matches where he was physically outmatched.

Another of those who also ends his contract in June this year is Lionel Messi. The midfielder shared more than 10 seasons alongside ‘La Pulga’ at FC Barcelona until the Argentine had to leave for Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) due to the club’s financial problems.

A few days ago, ‘The Times’ reported that Messi was close to reaching an agreement with Inter Miami to join in mid-2023 and be the highest paid in the MLS.

The aforementioned medium also recalled some statements by the albiceleste star in 2020 when he confessed that he would like to live the experience of playing and living in the United States. At the moment, the Argentine attacker is focused on his team playing the ecumenical contest.
