The Polish goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny praised Guillermo “Memo” Ochoa, whom he will face in the goals this Tuesday, November 22 in the first match of the group stage of Group C of the World Cup in Qatar 2022 between the selection of Mexico and Poland.

The Pole from Juventus congratulated him on his experience in World Cups and that he has played big tournaments, although he joked that he expects him to get many balls into the net.

“He has always been a true genius. He is an excellent goalkeeper. Playing big tournaments… I remember he played very well in 2014 and let’s hope that tomorrow he has to pick up many balls from his net”, he said at the press conference prior to Tuesday’s game.

Szczęsny did not put Poland above Mexico and stressed that you have important players. The Pole explained that theoretically they know how to stop them, but now they will have to show it on the field.

“Mexico is at a similar level. They have spectacular players; like Hirving Lozano, who has been one of the main wingers in Serie A. We have analyzed them very well and now it’s time to put theory into practice”, he added when referring to the ‘tri’.

Szczesny faces a very special tournament since, he assured, it will be his “last dance in a World Cup”, so he hopes that “it will be something to remember.” “For us, this is the biggest football event; and a dream come true,” she commented.

“The experience in these tournaments is important, but also in football in general. Helps you mentally prepare for the game, how to deal with expectations… negative experiences, like the one four years ago at Russia 2018, help us prepare and we have the ambition to improve this year”, he commented.

In addition, he showed his preferences for the World Cup if Poland is eliminated: “I will go with Argentina because I have many friends there,” he revealed.

One of them, Paulo Dybala, a former Juventus teammate and currently at Roma: “I am very happy that Dybala he has recovered because the best players in the world have to play in the World Cup, and he is one of them”, he declared.
