The Spanish actor gabriel guevara was arrested in Venice because there was an international arrest warrant against him for a complaint of alleged sexual assault in France.
According to Variety, Guevara was in Venice because he would receive the Filming Italy award for a contest that the Mostra did not organize, so the contest released a statement to clarify it.
“After the news that have been appearing on various websites about the arrest of the Spanish actor Gabriel Guevara in Venice, it clarifies that his presence in Venice was not linked to any event or productions related to the 80th Venice International Film Festival”they shared.
The 22-year-old star who starred in the Miguel Bosé series is in custody in Venice and they are looking for him to be extradited to face the charges against him.
His mother, the model Marlène Mourreau, assured that Gabriel Guevara is innocent because he has not gone to France for years, since he was 6 years old.
“He has never done anything with anyone, besides, he does not go to France, he has not returned to France since 2015. There has never been sexual violence”said.
