Many people do not go or do not see the need to take driving lessons, however, with this class you can learn things so that your driving is safe.
From the first day in driving school they tell you what it is the best way to hold the steering wheel while driving, but if you don’t know and you’re not sure if you’re holding it correctly, here’s how.
What is the correct way to hold the steering wheel?
In Japan, a specific study was carried out to find the correct way to grab a steering wheel and how this affects the functioning of the muscles, which in turn leads to the belief that in certain positions it is more difficult to turn the steering wheel.
This study was carried out with the help of nine people who were put behind a wheel specially designed to monitor your muscles.
In the research, participants performed one-handed actions and swapped hand positions to see if the subjects perceived the resistance as greater or lesser compared to a neutral stance. Positions will be given clockwise.
In each position they did, participants were asked if their wheel felt harder or easier to turn, if they felt it required more or less force.
The objective of the study, according to press releasewas to analyze how our perceptions based on sensory data can influence the way we operate a steering wheel:
“Arm position changes the way we use our muscles to perform tasks. An awkward or awkward position can make our sense of exertion feel higher or lower, making the object feel lighter or heavier than it actually is.”
Thus, it was concluded that the best position to grab the steering wheel is at 3:00 and 9:00, which would be a neutral position in this study.
It was also concluded that the drivers rested one hand leaving the other in the highest position of 12:00 and others rested in the 6:00 position.
An awkward or awkward position can make our sense of exertion feel higher or lower, making the object feel lighter or heavier than it really is.
