This is how on this occasion, Yalitza Aparicio will be presented at the Sundance Festival for the nomination of the short film “sweatshop girl“, a film by director Selma Cervantes.
It should be noted that the short film Sweatshop Girl talks about the difficulties some women face during their pregnancies, as it tells the story of a seamstress who hides hers so as not to be fired.
Sundance is a festival that supports emerging cinema, out of a total of almost 11 thousand projectsonly 64 works were selected, five of them have Mexican talent: “Sweatshop Girl”, by Selma Cervantes; “Heroic” by David Zonana; “Witchcraft” by Christopher Murray and “Cassandro” by Roger Ross Williams.
It is important to mention that the 2023 Sundance Film Festival will take place from January 19 to 29 in the town of Park City in Utah, United States.
