An Alabama man was sentenced to death for raping and murdering a five-year-old girl, a month after the victim’s mother pleaded guilty to selling her daughter to the defendant.

Jeremy Tremain Williams was found guilty of four counts of capital murder for the crime of Kamarie Holland occurred in December 2021, the Russell County District Attorney announced.

According to the indictment, Williams paid Kamarie’s mother, Kristy Siple, $2,500 to perform sexual acts on the girl before torturing and killing her.

The girl’s body was found by police on December 13, 2021, in a vacant house in Phenix City, about 80 miles east of Montgomery, near the Georgia-Alabama state line.

The jury also found Williams guilty of charges of sodomy, sexual abuse of a child under 12, production of obscene material involving a child, human trafficking, conspiracy to commit human trafficking and abuse of a corpse, he said. a court spokesperson told USA Today.

Last month, Williams pleaded guilty in the case, but Alabama law requires a jury to determine whether a suspect in a death penalty case is guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.

Circuit Court Judge David Johnson handed down the sentence and Williams was transferred to Holman Correctional Center, which houses the state’s death row inmates.

The mother sold her for an hour of sex

Before Kamarie’s death, the girl’s grandmother, Christie Hoskins, had reported her missing at her home in Columbus, Georgia, according to the Montgomery Advertiser.

At trial it was revealed that Karmarie’s mother “sold” her daughter to Williams for $2,500 so he could sexually abuse the girl, WTVM-TV reported.

Kristy Siple was accused of human sex trafficking and pleaded guilty last month, a court spokesman said. He faces up to 20 years in prison.

The victim’s father spoke

Before being convicted, Williams had been suspected in at least one other child abuse case in Alabama. He was charged with child abuse in Phenix City in 2009, and acquitted by a jury in 2012.

Following the verdict, WTVM-TV reported that Kamarie’s father, Corey Holland, said his daughter would not be forgotten. “Seeing that justice was finally done, I am deeply grateful”he told the aforementioned media.
