André Jardine blamed the refereeing for affecting the result after América’s 2-1 defeat against Pumas in Ciudad Universitaria this Saturday.

The Brazilian coach commented that there were many things that could have been avoided and said that the referee must have a firmer hand.

“In matches like classics, the referee must have a very firm hand, the players get hot and feel injustices“They see them and they become more aggressive, it happens a little for not controlling the nerves due to referee decisions, I don’t think it had happened, the red is undoubtedly, we would have controlled everything,” said the Brazilian coach.

Although, The Águilas del América coach stressed that he does not like to talk about refereeing and that his team seeks to win loyally in each game.

“I don’t like to talk about refereeing, I like to analyze the match, it is an issue that influences the score in the way the game goes,” declared André Jardine.

“We make it clear that we are a team that will always play on the ball, that seeks to compete with rivals in a loyal manner, you will not see our team do unfair things, we do not agree with that.

Jardine spoke about the expulsion of Brian Rodríguez and expressed that it was for expulsion after making a mistake.

“We are still hot, the players never want to go out, they always want to win in these types of games, tomorrow we are going to be colder, the respect in the locker room is maximum, as on our part, we were hot,” he said.

“Brian makes a mistake, it’s a double expulsion, we take a lot of money, We never reacted violently, we knew that the game was like that, with strong fouls like Igor’s, it is a good time to reflect and reach the final stretch strong.”

Gustavo Lema affirms that victory is a caress

Gustavo Lema, coach of Pumas, assured that the victory is a coup of authority and this was a great game to show that they have a great team.

“Completely [fue un golpe de autoridad]. It is a caress to the blows received “I’m not saying they are unfair, but sometimes they are hasty,” he said. “We have a great squad and at the beginning of the tournament we said that we should not have injury problems because it will be difficult for us to compete. Then we returned to solidity and this is a great game,” he highlighted.
