Agents from the Customs and Border Protection Service (CBP) were alerted by a canine element that something was not right with a vehicle that was trying to cross from Mexico to the United States, so they subjected the unit to a more intense inspection.

When they opened the glove compartment of the unit they found several bags with blue pills distributed on the dashboard of the car, the product had also been hidden in the front seats. Around 561,000 pills were removedwith a weight that exceeds 57 kilograms.

After analyzing what was seized, it was determined that it was fentanyl, The amount seized has a value of 11.2 million dollarsaccording to the weekly newspaper Zeta.

“Fentanyl is a very lethal drug that continues to be detected along our southern border. “I am very proud of the exceptional work of our officers who skillfully intercept illicit narcotics on a daily basis,” stated Mariza Marin, Director of the San Ysidro Port of Entry.
