The presenter Carlos Adyan is one of the few who has managed to make a difference in Spanish-speaking television and everything happened from the moment he decided to talk openly about his sexual orientation, while it was at the end of October when he got married with Carlos Quintanilla.
“There has always been a taboo that the presenter has to be the male, the alpha… Unfortunately, today, there are many people who live within that story. Obviously out of respect no names or anything are mentioned, but yes There are many colleagues who think that for this reason they are going to be crossed out and branded.. In fact, it took me a while to understand it,” she began by telling Adriana Martín in an interview.
“For me to open a small window for me is magnificent. I don’t know if I’m opening doors, but I feel that what I did was with a lot of love, it came from the heart and I have received many very nice messages from people who saw themselves in a similar story, who were not necessarily presenters and saw themselves reflected in the story and have been able to take a step that they had not suddenly taken,” he added during the conversation.
Adyan revealed that he stopped thinking about work for a moment because when it is his turn to leave the company where he is, he will still continue with his life. Therefore, he could not stop believing in what he really is, just as he should not hide himself because of other opinions.
“Forgetting a little about the impact it could have caused, which I know there was a certain impact, I focused on myself. In the end, tomorrow they fire me at work and that’s it, but not my life, my life is mine. I’m really enjoying my time at Telemundo, I’m really enjoying everything I’m doing, but We must understand that nothing belongs to us, much less a job. The moment I understood that I said ‘no, it’s just that my personal life comes before anything,’” he said.
This year the couple is expected to get married in church. Furthermore, Adriana asked him if they have plans to increase the number of family members and he did not hesitate to answer: “Yes, of course, of course yes. I want to have 2 children. It’s in the plans, but not in the plans now. In 2, 3 years. It is not a priority right now because we have too much work and we know what a responsibility a child is.”
