After complying with a game suspension in the Saudi Pro League due to a controversial gestureCristiano Ronaldo, spoke out in relation to the celebration he held in front of a group of fans who were mockingly shouting the name of the Argentine Lionel Messi at him.

The awkward moment occurred a couple of weeks ago when the Portuguese star’s Al-Nassr beat Al-Shabab (2-3) in a match in which he scored a goal. CR7 made a drastic movement of his arms in front of the fans of the local team, for which he was subsequently sanctioned.

He missed his team’s next match (a 4-4 draw with Al-Hazm) due to the punishment imposed on him for the controversial gesture that spread millions of times on social media. Now, Cristiano Ronaldo spoke this Sunday about what happenedwhich he considered to be a “mistake.”

“No one is perfect, life is made of mistakes. The less we do during our life, during our experience, the better.”Cristiano Ronaldo assured during the press conference prior to the commitment that his team will be playing this Monday for the Asian Champions League.

Al-Nassr will face Al-Ain of the United Arab Emirates in the match corresponding to the second leg of the quarterfinals of the competition in a series in which the Saudi Arabia team is at the bottom after having yielded 1-0 in the first leg.

“I am a player who does not like to see people acting against the game”continued the Portuguese star, complaining about the behavior of some of the Al-Shabab fans. “Many times people have a misinterpretation of what I can demonstrate, but that is not the case”he added.

Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo turned the page on his suspension for the controversial gesture he made to the fans and is now fully involved in trying to reverse the defeat suffered in the first leg of the Asian Champions League quarterfinals against Al- Ain who they will face this Monday.

“Tomorrow (Monday) is win or die so we are going to win. “I take this opportunity to ask all the fans to come to the stadium because we need them all to come back from this tie.”said CR7 in the press conference prior to the match that will be held at Al Awal Park in Riyadh.

“We know we lost the first leg, so we know what we have to change to win, but that’s the beauty of football. Life is full of challenges, no one gives you anything. “We want to be successful and that is what we want to achieve tomorrow.”assured the Portuguese star.
