Former footballer Dani Alves has appeared for the second time in the Barcelona Court after being released provisionally on March 25 after paying bail of one million euros.

The former Pumas player is on parole while the appeals regarding his sentence to four and a half years in prison for rape are resolved.

The footballer arrived at the Barcelona Palace of Justice after twelve o’clock accompanied by his lawyer, Inés Guardiola.

The Brazilian appeared before the secretariat of section 21 of the Barcelona Court, where he stayed for around ten minutes, until he left the building.

The Brazilian has been sentenced in the first instance to four years and six months in prison for raping a young woman in the toilets of the Sutton nightclub in Barcelona on December 30, 2022, and has been in prison for a total of 14 months.

Precautionary measures for Dani Alves

The court imposed the withdrawal of his two passports – Brazilian and Spanish – as precautionary measures.the prohibition to leave the country and the obligation to appear every Friday before the section 21 secretariat, or the last previous working day if it is a holiday.

The Brazilian arrived this Friday, just like on the previous occasion, in a car driven by a friend, which has parked on the side of the Palace of Justice. From there, Alves walked, accompanied by Guardiola, the few meters to the main entrance.

The former FC Barcelona footballer, dressed on this occasion with a cap, tracksuit pants and a black half-season jacket, a white t-shirt and sunglasses, has once again shown a calm attitude, without paying attention to the press that was waiting for his arrival.

Despite being asked by journalists on the way out, the former soccer player has refused to answer any questions. Only your lawyer Guardiola, after being questioned about whether he continued to defend the innocence of his client, stated with a resounding: “Yes, of course.”
