David Benavídez expressed that Mauricio Sulaimán, president of the World Boxing Council (WBC), will remove the belt from your body to Saúl ‘Canelo’ Álvarez if he does not agree to fight him in September.

“I’ve wanted to go up to 175 for a long time. I have been the number one contender to fight for the WBC title for three years. PBC, Al Haymon, and Sampson (Lewkowicz) have been negotiating, but Canelo showed no interest in fighting with me, and as I have said, I am not going to sit and wait for Canelo, because there are other divisions to conquer (…) If (Canelo) does not want to give me the fight, there is not much I can do,” he added.
