Who is Juan Carlos Cortéz?

The Mexican midfielder was born on April 3, 2005 in Hermosillo and began his career in professional soccer with the Cimarrones de Sonora in 2021, going on to play in the third division of Mexican soccer as well as the Promotion League in which he became, at just 16 years old, the youngest footballer to play in that tournament.

He later arrived at Necaxa for the Apertura 2022, a team with which he had experience in various categories until reaching the under-23 level. The midfielder was present on an international tour that the team made and also participated in the Algarve Cup that took place in Portugal.

At the national team level, Juan Carlos Cortéz also has experience in the minor categories, playing with the U-18 team led by Alex Diego and it is expected that in 2024 he will make the jump to the U-20 team led by Eduardo Arce or even the sub-23 which is directed by Ricardo Cadena.
