The actor Jonathan Majorsconvicted of sexual assault and harassment of his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari, escaped jail time in the most recent trial against him.
Instead, the former Marvel star will have to serve a 52-week sentence within a guidance and counseling program to understand the realities of domestic violence.
He will take the rigorous program in the city of Los Angeles, where he currently lives. At the same time, Majors will not be able to suspend his psychological therapies to treat his mental health, which he has been attending for a few months.
The sentence that saved him from going to prison was handed down this Monday by Judge Michael Gaffey, in a Manhattan court, in New York. The trial lasted two weeks, but the resolution was postponed from January of this year to early April due to delays requested by his legal team.
Jonathan attended the motion with his current partner, actress Meagan Good.
Grace Jabbari was also present in court and had the opportunity to give her final testimony, ensuring that the actor did not regret having attacked her. “will do this again. Will hurt another woman. “This is a man who believes he is above the law,” Grace noted on the stand.
According to Rolling Stone, the judge in charge of his case exempted him from going to jail due to the absence of a criminal record, the lack of evidence and the apparent remorse shown by Majors.
Jonathan Mayor accused of assaulting Grace Jabbari
The actor, recognized for his role as Kang in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, was arrested in March 2023 after being accused of assaulting Jabbari in a car. Jonathan’s defense always maintained that the aggressor had actually been Jabbari.
The woman later sued Majors for assault and defamation, who faced up to a year in prison for the charges against her. As a result of this scandal, Marvel fired Majors, who also lost other film projects and was “abandoned” by his advertising and management agency.
