Jos Verstappen again charges against Christian Horner: “He has the support of the owner” – La Opinion

The dispute between Jos Verstappen, Max’s father, and Christian Horner, director of Red Bull, stings and spreads. This weekend the Dutchman once again launched against the Briton in the middle of the dispute between the two that came to light after a complaint from a team employee against the manager for alleged improper behavior.

In a new interview with the Daily Mail, the father of the three-time Formula 1 champion highlighted that Christian Horner has the endorsement of the powerful within the Austrian team Therefore, he does not see it possible for him to abandon his position this season. The Briton was recently acquitted of the accusation against him, which caused discomfort in Jos.

“I think it’s too late for Christian Horner to say ‘leave me alone’, but as he has the support of the Thai owner (Chaleo Yoovidhya), so I think he will stay for the rest of the season.”acknowledged Verstappen, who last week even hinted at the possibility of his son leaving Red Bull.

Jos also spoke out about the employee who accused Horner and who ended up being suspended by the energy drink team. It is speculated that the Dutchman would have had a love relationship with Christian Horner’s former secretary, with whom the Briton supposedly had a relationship and who ended up denouncing him.

“I sympathize with the woman, with everything that happened but we will see what happens”assured the father of the Red Bull driver who is not present in Saudi Arabia for the second race of the season. “It seems like the team knows what they are doing with her, but we’ll see. I think it’s up to her to get out of it and see what happens.”added the Dutchman.

Likewise, Jos Verstappen once again used his son’s letter and his dissatisfaction with the current situation in the Red Bull team despite the dominance they are demonstrating at the beginning of the 2024 Formula 1 season but which is being overshadowed by the controversies carried out off the slopes.

Of course, Max Verstappen made it clear that the presence of Helmut Marko, who is being investigated by Red Bull for an alleged leak to the press of confidential information about the process of Christian Horner, is essential for his permanence in the energy drink team with the who has a contract until the 2029 season.
