José Luis Reséndez stood out in productions such as “Sortilegio”, “Por amar sin ley” and “El Talismán”, where he played various characters that led him to gain recognition and popularity in the acting field. However, he had a bad experience at work and after so many years we remember the reason why he did not continue on television.
“Today, October 14, my birthday, I officially announce my retirement from Mexican open television in protest against such abuse and I ask my followers to support me with the hashtag #eltalentovale if they want to support me. It’s very important. Not only are the rights of us actors and actresses who are very unprotected, but also of all workers who suffer this type of abuse by companies and are not rewarded for their excellent work and their career or their career and their effort. We simply deserve better,” the actor mentioned through a video shared on YouTube.
The 45-year-old Mexican explained that the decision he made was not simply to get by, because it was not taken in the best way: “With regard to the matter related to my abrupt e unjustified withdrawal of the series Señora Acero 5 and Telemundo NBC You can read some comments towards me like ‘you’re on fire’, ‘he got over it’, ‘get over it’. Just to clarify, all of those things are false. It is very different from what I am actually doing, which is a protest to defend my rights and all those people who are being exploited in the same way and are indifferent or fearful of such injustice.”
José Luis did not want to stop and took the opportunity to explain the alleged irregularities that occur in this type of employment: “In Latin America it is well known, but no one dares to say anything, that The television monsters want to have absolute control of everything, trampling on the artistic medium pressing their proposals too much, obviously not caring at all in order to keep, not with the biggest slice of the pie, but with the entire pie.”
“The producer talks to me and tells me ‘José Luis grab your suitcases because you’re coming tomorrow’ (to work in the United States). I grab my family, we return to Mexico, I pack my suitcase. At night I receive another call from the producer telling me, ‘José Luis, I’m sorry, but your services will no longer be required‘; a day before traveling… That’s how she started, with a dismissal in a very unrealistic, very unprofessional, very disrespectful way,” she added.
