The historic program “60 Minutes,” which airs on the CBS television network, will present an interview with the president this Sunday Andrés Manuel López Obradorwhere he will talk about two topics that are of great interest both in Mexico and in the United States: fentanyl trafficking and the border between both countries.

This was revealed by the Mexican president himself during his morning press conference, confirming that he gave an interview to the legendary program that has been broadcast uninterruptedly since 1968 and addresses the main national and international problems.

“They will have the interview next Sunday. For the countrymen and women there, there is a translation in Spanish,” explained López Obrador, who He has given very few interviews to international media during his administration.

For their part, on the social networks of “60 Minutes” they released a video of a few seconds to give a small preview of the interview.

In the clip the journalist appears asking López Obrador about the criticism that his immigration policy has received, and that he is accused of wanting to blackmail the United States.

Sharyn Alfonsi is an American journalist and “60 Minutes” correspondent. She made her debut appearance on the show on March 1, 2015, and in 2019 she received the Alfred I. duPont–Columbia University Journalism Award.

It should be noted that “60 Minutes” has established itself as a television benchmark due to its format, its audience levels and its permanence over time.
