The Mexican team will face Panama this Thursday, March 21. The match will take place at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, United States. El Tri seeks a pass to the final of the Concacaf Nations League.

Mexico has a higher demand in this competition. El Tri has not been able to win the Nations League. The “giant” of Concacaf has finished in third place, in the last edition, and runner-up in the 2019 tournament. In this sense, Jaime Lozano’s team has a higher demand than its rival.

However, Panama will not be an easy rival at all. Thomas Christiansen and his team have earned respect in the region. The Canaleros come from crushing Costa Rica with a 6-1 aggregate and arrive inspired for their duel with Mexico.

For its part, Jaime Lozano’s team suffered more than necessary to reach these stages. Mexico tied on aggregate with Honduras (2-2), and from the penalty spot he got his pass to these instances.

Although in recent games the balance has tipped towards the Mexican side, Panama is a dangerous rival that has sold its defeat dearly.

In the last five games, Los Canaleros have not been able to defeat Mexico; Aztec victory 3-0 in an international friendly; 1-1 draw and Aztec victory 1-0 in the 2022 Qatar World Cup qualifiers; 0-1 victory for Mexico for the 2023 Nations League and the last precedent was in the final of the Gold Cup with another 1-0 Mexican victory.
