The MLB announced this Friday that 264 players born outside the United States were registered during Major League Baseball Opening Day in 2024.

Mexico had 12 players participate in the Opening Game of this season, behind the Dominican Republic, Venezuela, Cuba and Puerto Rico.

For the Dominican Republic, 108 is the second highest amount only behind the 110 that occurred in the 2020 season, according to MLB.

The 264 players born outside the United States in the MLB rThey represent the fourth most in the history of organized baseball.

In 2020, 291 were counted, 275 in 2022 and 270 in 2023. The Dominican Republic has led this list since records began in 1995.

The Houston Astros are the team with the most players outside the United States in the MLB. The American League East-leading team leads this list for the fourth consecutive year.

The San Diego Padres are in second place. San Diego has several players from the Caribbean and also from Asia.
