Nick Nursecoach of the Philadelphia 76ers, and Kelly Oubre Jr.franchise forward, They were fined this Friday with $50,000 dollars each for verbally abusing the referees in the game lost last Wednesday against the Los Angeles Clippers.
The decision, made by NBA chief operating officer Joe Dumars, sanctioned Nurse for “aggressively pursuing and verbally abusing” to the referees, now Oubre Jr for “verbally abusing and making an obscene gesture” at the referees.
Nurse and Oubre Jr’s protests occurred at the end of the game lost 108-107 by the 76erswho are fighting for a place in the play-in, against the Clippers.
Nurse complained very colorfully to the referees about not calling a foul by Paul George on Oubre Jr when he was trying to take the last shot of the game, decided by a point in favor of the Angelenos.
The arbitrators later recognized that They made a mistake on that occasion.
