“The King of the Accordion” announced that the tour “The Beginning of an End” will mark his farewell to the stage after a successful career of more than 60 years and many musical hits that have made the audience who love the northern genre sing and dance.

“The thing is that my father started working from a very young age. He never rested for two or three or four or five weeks, let alone a year. Now it is to enjoy the family, he would like to spend more time on the ranch,” stated Ramón Jr.

“It is his retirement from the stage because he is going to rest, enjoy a year or two, whatever he wants; He says what’s next, if he needs and wants time to be with the family, be at home, travel, and above all enjoy the ranch that he likes so much.

The one born in Monterrey, Mexico, whose beginnings in music took place in Reynosa, Tamaulipas, singing in bars with the deceased Cornelio Reynawith whom he formed the legendary group Los Relámpagos del Norte, has performed his presentations in recent years sitting in front of the public with his friend of all battles: the accordion.

The news of his retirement from shows has caught the attention of his fans, but it is clear that he is in good health.

“Let’s remember that dad is going to be 79 years old… and always working,” added his son, in a telephone interview for Agencia Reforma, from his home in Mision, Texas.

Along with the announcement of a goodbye tour, Ramón releases a new single titled “El Retén”, which will be released on Friday, March 8.

It is estimated that it was in 1963 when the creator of hits such as “There are Ojos”, “Chaparra de mi Amor”, “Tragos Amargos”, “Mi Piquito de Oro”, “Mi Tesoro” and “El Disgusto”, began his career in music at a professional level, although since he was a child he started playing the accordion.

“It’s not a goodbye, but a see you soon, it’s all a matter of if God wants him to come back, he will come back,” said Ramón Jr.

So far there are more than 50 dates listed in Mexico and the United States for this upcoming tour “The Beginning of a Final Tour.”
