The captains of the 24 teams that will participate in the Rugby World Series 7s in Los Angeles left their mark with street art this Wednesday as part of the preparations for the fifth stage of the tournament to be held at the Dignity Health Sports Park between March 1 and 3.

“With the LA 2028 Summer Olympics and two Rugby World Cups on the horizon, it is no secret that the USA and California are exciting growth markets for World Rugby and we are delighted once again to bring HSBC SVNS 2024. back to the United States as part of our renewed and rebranded global calendar,” Dan Lyle, director of AEG Rugby, commented in a statement.

How is the Rugby 7s World Series going?

In the women’s category Australia leads the series until the fourth round, with 72 pointsbut their lead is reduced to six points, with New Zealand in second place with 66 points and France a further four points behind with 62 points.

In the men’s category, the rival to beat is the leader Argentina, with an advantage of 24 points after having obtained three gold medals and one silver in the first four rounds. They have 78 points, ahead of Ireland and Fiji with 54 points.

Finally, it is important to mention that HSBC SVNS 2024 features seven regular season events plus one grand final. The top eight teams based on accumulated series points at the conclusion of round seven in Singapore will secure their chance to compete in the new winner-take-all Grand Final in Madrid, where the women’s and men’s champions will be crowned from HSBC SVNS 2024.

Madrid will also host the high-stakes relegation play-off competition where teams ranked ninth to 12 will join the top four teams from the World Rugby Sevens Challenger, with the top four teams securing their place at HSBC SVNS 2025.
