The actor Ryan Gosling will be present at the ceremony Oscar awards 2024 to make attendees and nominees dance by performing the popular song “I’m Just Ken”, from the soundtrack of the movie “Barbie”.

This Monday, the Variety portal reported that according to Academy sources, the protagonist of “La La Land” and “The Notebook” will once again play Ken to go on stage at the gala with Mark Ronsonone of the writers of the song that won the Critics’ Choice Award for Best Song.

The song “I’m Just Ken” is one of the nominees from the film “Barbie”, along with “What Was I Made For?” of Billie Eilishwhich has already won the Grammy for best song written for visual media and song of the year, in addition to the Golden Globe for Best Original Song.

The news about the musical presentation that includes Ryan Gosling comes after Ronson warned that he was not willing to play the song if the Academy did not invite the actor to participate in the event, refusing to replace him with another singer: “No. I think if Ryan doesn’t do it, then we won’t do it.“he told Variety.

Gosling is nominated for Best Supporting Actor for his performance as Ken in “Barbie”, which has generated criticism from users on social networks because his colleagues Margot Robbie and Greta Gerwig did not receive mention in the shortlists for Best Actress and Best Direction, respectively.

The Oscar ceremony will take place on March 10 at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles, California.
