The famous actor Tom Cruise will be the protagonist of the next film by the Mexican director Alejandro González Iñárrituas reported by The Hollywood Reporter.

The plot of the film is still a secret, but the news portal added that it will be consolidated with a script written by Iñárritu, Sabina Berman, Alexander Dinelaris and Nicolas Giacobone.

Warner Bros. and Legendary Entertainment are in talks to obtain distribution of the project. The Cruise news comes after an agreement between the Warner studio and the actor was announced, with the aim of releasing more films with the “Mission Impossible” star.

This film project marks the return of the Mexican Oscar winner in film projects in English, since “The Revenant”which featured Leonardo DiCaprio.

For Tom Cruise, this is his first approach with other filmmakers, after directing franchises such as “Top Gun” and “Mission Impossible.” In addition to the film with Iñárritu, the Hollywood actor is developing a film that he said would be filmed in space, with director Doug Liman, for Universal studios.

“Bardo” was the last project that the Mexican director directed, before this title, he managed to obtain the Oscar for Best Director “The Revenant”, which meant another success in his artistic career after winning the Academy Awards in 2015 for “Birdman.”
