Javier Hernández was the protagonist of a bittersweet night in MLS. The Mexican soccer player commanded the Los Angeles Galaxy in his last duel for American football against the Sporting Kansas City. Despite scoring a couple of goals, the one of the victory escaped him for trying a luxury payment to the Panenka.
In the 96th minute of the game, that is, moments before the end of the gameChicharito had in his boots the possibility of giving the victory to the Los Angeles Galaxy and also seal his triplet. But the Mexican’s ambition went very far and when trying to bite it, the goalkeeper John Pulskamp stopped the shot with ease.
It was clear that despite scoring two goals and putting his team on the line, critics would strongly point to this latest action for the indifference with which he faced the tough decision.
What did Chicharito say after his ruling?
After missing the last shot, Javier Hernández showed his face and sent a message to the club’s fans. The Mexican recalled that a couple of weeks ago he tried a penalty in the same way and the result was positive. Chicharito concluded his speech assuming full responsibility for what happened.
“I’m sorry, it’s very obvious that we had a clear chance to get the three points and we couldn’t (do it). (About the penalty) yes, I take responsibility, sorry. We will continue to work very hard. Two weeks ago the Panenka penalty worked, not this time. Now I have to look forward, take responsibility, keep improving and working,” he said.
