The 2024 Oscars will be held on March 10 in the city of Los Angeles, in an event that will celebrate the best of cinema in the last year.
One of the most anticipated categories is that of best actor, since the work done by the protagonist of one of the stories competing in this edition is rewarded.
The list of those chosen on this occasion is made up of the following artists, who will seek to achieve this valuable recognition.
-Sterling K. Brown, “American Fiction”
-Robert De Niro, “The Moon Killers”
-Robert Downey Jr. “Oppenheimer”
-Ryan Gosling, “Barbie”
-Mark Ruffalo, “Poor Creatures”
In this area, the competition is quite close due to the impeccable performances of the candidates, who stood out in their respective films with the work they did.
Favorites include Downey Jr., De Niro and Brown, who achieved solid roles with those films.
What do we know about the 2024 Oscars?
The person in charge of conducting the ceremony is Jimmy Kimmel, known for being in charge of this show in other editions.
This will be the fourth time that the American assumes this role in the most important gala of the seventh art.
“I always dreamed of hosting the Oscars exactly four times,” Kimmel said, according to a November 2023 review on the Academy’s website.
The executive director of the Academy, Bill Kramer, and the president of the Academy, Janet Yang, were happy with this choice, as they liked the work of the television host.
“We are thrilled to have Jimmy return as host and Molly return as executive producer of the Oscars. “They share our love of movies and our commitment to producing dynamic, entertaining programming for our global audience,” Kramer and Yang said. “We are deeply grateful to Jimmy, Molly and their teams for their incredible creativity and partnership and for taking this journey with us again.”
In addition to this, several celebrities will be in charge of presenting the winners.
On the Oscars website they shared a group of confirmed stars. Among them are: Mahershala Ali, Nicolas Cage, Jamie Lee Curtis, Brendan Fraser, Jessica Lange, Matthew McConaughey, Lupita Nyong’o, Al Pacino, Michelle Pfeiffer, Ke Huy Quan, Sam Rockwell, Michelle Yeoh and Zendaya.
The ceremony will take place on Sunday, March 10, 2024 at the Dolby® Theater at Ovation Hollywood. The live broadcast will be carried out by ABC.
