The social network X limited searches related to an alleged leak of the new album by Taylor Swifta few hours after its official premiere on digital platforms and physical formats.

The release of ‘The Tortured Poets Department’ (TTPD), the singer-songwriter’s eleventh studio album, has caused a stir on social networks due to fan conspiracy theories through the tracks and images that Swift has been revealing since the last installment of the Grammy Awards, however, the conversation was interrupted on this Wednesday night, after the rumor of the leak of lyrics and songs from the musical project emerged.

According to a report from the Us Weekly portal, the platform X had to block searches for some words related to the album, as well as the phrase “Taylor Swift Leak.” (Taylor Swift Leak), in order to prevent eager fans from getting early access to the album.

The “swifties” (Taylor fans) accused in X that the leak could have arisen from a Google unit, which already has a record of the lyrics and all the information that makes up TTPD.

As a way to defend the musical work of the “Blank Space” singer, the “swifties” reacted with posts with the hashtags #TTPD and #TaylorSwift, with links that redirected curious people to posts, video clips and other information about past projects by singer.

Taylor Swift breaks record with ‘TTPD’

This April 18, the Spotify platform reported through its social networks that Taylor Swift took another record to the bag, by registering with ‘The Tortured Poets Department’ as the album with the highest record of pre-saves in the world.

“On April 18, 2024, Taylor Swift’s ‘THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT’ became the most pre-saved album Countdown Page in Spotify history,” the platform’s post reads. TTPD will be released this Thursday on digital platforms, starting at 10:00 p.m.
