The parents of the deceased singer-songwriter Amy WinehouseMitch and Janis, received the award in honor of their daughter BRIT Billion by the British Phonographic Industry for an unusual achievement in the UK industry.

The performer and composer of hits like “Back to Black” and “Rehab” recently posthumously passed the billion views online in UK territories.

“Of course, we would love for Amy to be here today accepting this award in person, but it’s amazing that she is still winning awards for her incredible talent and accomplishments,” her parents said in a press release, reported by Rolling Stone.

“It’s wonderful that his music is being discovered by a new audience of young people who love it as much as their contemporaries. We are very proud of Amy. Thank you”they added.

The prestigious award is presented by representatives of various record labels, music companies, experts and industry workers in the United Kingdom.

The organization shared that “Back to Black”a song that Winehouse released in 2007, is her most played song in England and other territories, exceeding 150 million views.

In second place, “Valerie” stands out, Winehouse’s collaboration with Mark Ronson, which has so far added just over 135 million streams.

Other of his songs that helped him reach the billion mark are “Tears Dry On Their Own”, “Rehab”, “You Know I’m No Good” and “Love Is A Losing Game”.

Other artists who have won this award in the past are The Rolling Stones, Lewis Capaldi, Billie Eilish and Olivia Rodrigo, among others.
