Biden sent his dog Commander to family after incidents of biting more than 20 agents – La Opinion

President Joe Biden sent his dog Commander with some family members after biting incidents were reported with at least 24 service agents, both in the White House and elsewhere.

This was reported on Thursday by a source to CNN, who, citing internal documents from the secret services (USSS), assured that agency staff had to change their habits to avoid being injured by the Bidens’ well-known German shepherd.

The Biden family feels “heartbroken” and has been “heartbroken” by this series of biting incidents, according to the close source who spoke to the outlet.

“They are heartbroken about this. They have apologized to those who have been bitten and have brought flowers to some. They feel very bad. Commander was overprotective and even though they tried and tried to work on it, They had to take him to live with other members of his family“, he claimed.

This is not the first time that incidents involving Commander have been reported, who since October 4 was no longer in the White House after having bitten several secret agents.

“Recent dog bites have forced us to adjust our operational tactics when Commander is present,” an anonymous special agent in charge of the USSS Presidential Protection Division wrote to his team in a June 2023 email.

In that email, the agent warned his colleagues that “they had to be creative to guarantee their own personal safety.”

That warning came months before the dog left the White House for good.

The network shows an undated photograph, obtained through a Freedom of Information Act request, showing an image of a US Secret Service agent’s torn shirt after the dog bite.

Documented incidents included members of the uniformed division of the Secret Service, members of the president’s protection team and other USSS officials.

All of them took place inside and outside the White House residence, but also at the Biden family homes in Wilmington and Rehoboth Beach (Delaware), at Camp David and in Nantucket (Massachusetts), where the family is spending the holidays. Thanksgiving.

The Bidens repeatedly attempted to control the situation, which began in October 2022 with incidents spanning an entire year.

Commander arrived at the White House in December 2021 when he was just a three-month-old puppy.. It was a gift that the president received from his family, months after the death of Champ, a German shepherd who accompanied the couple for 13 years.

Previously, another Biden dog, Major, was also sent to live with friends in Delaware after aggressive behavior toward members of the Secret Service and White House staff.
